Fedele riproduzione di pistola da duello
inglese prodotta da Moore in Londra, è
caratterizzata dalla canna scodolabile,
cromata e satinata esternamente. Il
calcio, in noce, è zigrinato e lucidato a
olio. Prodotta con acciarino e fornimenti
color argento vecchio, è dotata di stecher
regolabile.

A faithful reproduction of an English
duelling pistol, originally created by
Charles Moore in London, featuring a
hook breech barrel, outside chromed
and satin finish. The stock is of walnut,
checkered and oil finish. Produced with
lock and furniture coin finish colour, it
is provided with adjustable single set
trigger.

Fra i vari costruttori di armi con il cane
inferiore, Michael Carleton di Haverhill,
nel New Hampshire, fu quello che rea-
lizzò un modello che meccanicamente
riuscì a prevalere sugli altri grazie al
movimento rettilineo del cane, con una
corsa parallela all’asse della canna. Il
luminello è avvitato orizzontalmente sul
portaluminello posto nella parte inferio-
re della bascula, e la molla del cane
funge anche da paragrilletto. Le parti di
scorrimento sono rettificate in modo da
ridurre gli attriti: il risultato è uno scatto
molto sensibile e regolabile, pur in as-
senza di stecher. L’arma, estremamente
bilanciata, è realizzata con canna color
damasco e completata da un’impugna-
tura che, sagomata a manico di sega,
garantisce una presa salda e sicura.

Among the various guns manufacturers
of under hammer, Michael Carleton of
Haverhill, New Hampshire, made the
model that prevailed over other models
thanks to the liner movement of the
hammer having a parallel motion to
the barrel axis. The nipple is
horizontally screwed to the drum
placed in the under part of the frame
and the main hammer spring looks like
a trigger guard. The sliding moving
parts are carefully designed to reduce
their friction: the result is a very
moderate crisp pull, even without a set
trigger. This very well balanced gun is
made with rust brown finish colour
barrel, completed with a saw handle
stock, providing a firm and natural
grip.
