The history of Bignami begun in 1937, in the backshop
of an appliance store in Bolzano, thanks to the re-
sourcefullness of Battista Berti, hunting and shooting
enthusiast.
Only in 1939, however, Battista Berti started officially
with business, in Ospedale 2 street, always in Bolzano:
the gunshop was officially owned by his wife, Giorgina
Bignami, and that’s the reason for the company name,
that remained until now.
That year has been the true beginning for the 75 years
of history of Bignami spa. And today again, it’s possi-
ble to state that this company owes its success to the
determination and will to have in its portfolio the most
important brands of the market.
The key of the company is clear, evident, and could be
summed up with only one word: PASSION! Formidable
passion, for hunting, for shooting and for everything
connected with this fascinating universe. Passion that
continues to pervade the Berti family, leading choices
and programs, passion that has managed to transform
an interesting activity into something more.
Since that far 1937, much progress has been made.
The small backshop in Ospedale 2 street, has begun a
modern, dynamic company, projected to face the future
challenges.
In 2012, Bignami spa decided for a complete renewal.
The old main building, 20.000 cubic meters large, has
been demolished to build a new 40.000 cubic meters
one.
Design and materials, aluminum, wood and glass, give
a contemporary appearance to it.
The warehouse, buttonhole of the new building, has
been organized with a modern, fully automatic storage
system, connected with a new, efficient packaging line.
Shelving up to 11 metres high complete the structure,
together with cozy and bright offices.
Passion, therefore: so was for Battista Berti, so is now,
for the new generations of the Berti-Bignami family.
