Steel shot does not damage your gun barrel.
Steel shot is characterized by the fact that it is much harder than lead. To prevent shot from coming into contact with the inside of the barrel and scratching it, wads for steel shot are made from much more
resistant plastic. The cup walls in which the shot remains as it goes through the barrel and the choke are significantly thicker for increased resistance. Furthermore, there are no gaps on the walls of the cup
through which shot may be liable to scratch the barrel.
